Weeks Two Happenings

Japanese  students came to visit Hampstead school .

The students from Japan sang an action  song about catching a giant  fish  in Assembly on Friday.

The Japanese students are teaching room 12 how to make stuff from their culture. We made a carp fish that children in Japan use to celebrate Childrens' Day.  

Mr Melrose and some of the school councilors   have came to help us.

Aidan has been awarded  a certificate in Assembly this week.

This week Room 12 got awesome Spot in assembly for being the best behaved class.

Term 3 Week 1

Welcome back to the new term with Room 12. We have already done heaps of things!

For Maths this week we have been learning how to measure using non-standard units. Isaac is using his hand span to measure how long the bench is. 

This term we are writing speeches. Aidan and Savannah have chosen to write their speech while lying on the mat.

How far from the monkey to the crocodile? We used light green rods to measure the distances for this activity.

Foe the next five weeks on Tuesdays we have Turbo Touch lessons with Logan our coach. Here we are running around the court to warm up.

Savannah, Chloe and Oscar are learning  Turbo Touch skills  with the class.

Collage is our Visual Arts topic for this Term. A collage is a composition made by gluing pieces of paper, string, cloth, wallpaper and other materials to a surface. For this work we are showing how to use several techniques to change the texture of a collage.Oscar is working on his creation.

Wonderful Week 10!

The new classrooms are almost complete on the outside. Now for the work on the inside!

This Term we have been learning how to sew a picture onto Hessian using a running stitch. Everyone is holding up their work for their photo. The finished work is amazing and we are very proud of our work. You can check out the real thing displayed on our classroom wall.

Congratulation to Otis for winning his Achievement Award in Assembly this week.
